Dale "Barbie" Barbara is a mysterious main character in CBS's Under the Dome. He becomes a "freelance" deputy of Linda's force, when Linda needed somewhat trustworthy men.
Season Synopsis[]
As he was not a resident of Chester's Mill, he stayed at the Shumway's house, with a rocky relationship with Julia Shumway. He killed Julia's husband Peter in a contract/enforcer deal due to Peter's enormous debts, but it's revealed that Peter may have been wanted to be killed (so Julia could get the insurance money), instead of comitting suicide (which would make the insurance void). He initially keeps the truth from Julia, while romancing her in the process. He gained her trust in the first episode for saving couple people, lost it around the outbreak, re-gained her trust and romance in The Endless Thirst, and finally revealed the truth to her in Speak of the Devil (1.11). He is targeted for several murders (Maxine, Maxine's mother, and Maxine's associate - done by Jim) and attempted murders (Julia - comitted by Maxine, Jim - staged to look like he was a victim, and Linda - she is fooled into believing that Jim is the innocent one) by Councilman Jim Rennie, however, this is just a corrupt ploy by Jim Rennie to rile the townspeople to hunt Barbie down. It is the mission of the Dome Four; which consists of Joe, Norrie, Angie, and Junior to track down and kill Big Jim, in essence saving Barbie from Big Jim's persecution.
